This formation is more than a performance—it is their story.

Deeply rooted in tradition yet fully open to the contemporary world, it is a space where tradition and modernity nourish one another, ensuring that ancient heritage remains vibrantly alive.

Franco-Indian siblings Parveen Khan and Ilyas Khan embody the living musical heritage of Rajasthan. Raised in Jaipur within a distinguished Indo-French artistic family, they were immersed from early childhood in the demanding discipline of Indian classical music under the guidance of their father, the renowned artistic director Hameed Khan Kawa. For them, music is not merely performance—it is inheritance, discipline, and devotion.

A leading voice of her generation, Parveen performs rāgas alongside maands—rare and endangered folk songs of the Rajasthani desert. As one of the few contemporary custodians of this fragile tradition, she is committed to preserving and transmitting this cultural treasure, breathing new life into ancient forms with sensitivity, depth, and expressive freedom.

On tabla, Ilyas accompanies her with exceptional virtuosity while boldly expanding the tradition through his pioneering integration of beatboxing. Beginning his artistic journey at just fourteen, he has since gained international recognition, including a nomination at the French Beatboxing Championships and collaborations with artists such as Alem, the 2015 World Beatboxing Champion. His global reach was further amplified through a viral Kit Kat campaign that garnered 27 million views in 24 hours.

Together, Parveen and Ilyas create a vibrant dialogue between past and present—bridging East and West, heritage and innovation. Deeply anchored in their lineage yet daring in their expression, they redefine their family’s musical legacy for audiences around the world.
